l am a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, I completed my Masters of Science of Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner degree at the University of Texas at Arlington, and I am certified by the (American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) - I am fluent in Spanish, English, and Tagalog/Filipino. Having lived in different countries, (3 continents-Asia, Africa, America), l am well versed in culturally competent patient care.
I graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Pan-American in 2012. I worked as a Registered Nurse in McAllen Medical Center (Telemetry floor-5 East), Doctor's Hospital at Renaissance (PCCU-4), and at Rio Grande Regional (Emergency Department), I have been floated to ICU, step down, SDU, and Medical-surgical units. I also have experience in managing care for patients in transitional care, participating in a hospital based project (DRIP) aimed at preventing readmissions and decreasing unnecessary ER visits.
I have been in practice with Cooper Internal Medicine/Cooper Wellness Center, since 2020. I believe in the ideals that Cooper Wellness Center embodies. Health is not just about medications. It requires a holistic approach for the care of individuals and families.
I am patient-focused and I believe in evidence-based practice in conjunction with empowering our patients and their families through education/diet/lifestyle. As such, I believe that mental health, diet, and lifestyle are a very important aspect of health and should be included in every patient's plan of care I believe in addressing the mind-body-spirit, and ensuring that patients and their families have everything they need to actively participate in their own care, to achieve their optimal health, improve their conditions, and improve/maintain their quality of life
