Donnel Dockery-Joseph, MD
I was born in Miami, Florida, the first of five children to Jamaican immigrant parents, Nelson Dockery, M.D., and Dona Cooper-Dockery, M.D. I’m proud to call the Rio Grande Valley, TX home, having grown up in McAllen and Mission. I earned my medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine in the Dutch Antilles.
I’m passionate about delivering quality healthcare to those in need. I’ve participated in free medical outreach across U.S. cities and internationally in Saba, St. Martin, Haiti, and Ghana. I also love serving my community as a youth leader, providing plant-based meals, and sharing music as a flutist, pianist, and lyric soprano.
I’m a co-author of Charlie Goes to the Doctor and God Has Not Forgotten: You Matter. I am completing my Internal Medicine residency at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas, and I’m thrilled to provide competent, compassionate care to the community that raised me.
