Lorena Medina, MPAS PA-C

Coming soon!My journey to becoming a Physician Assistant (PA) began when I was a child hospitalized for three months. During that difficult time, the first healthcare provider I met was a PA who was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and caring. I actually thought he was a doctor at first, and discovering what a PA was opened my eyes to this wonderful profession. That experience planted a seed—I didn't want others to go through what I went through, and I wanted to provide the same compassionate care that made such a difference in my life. I earned my Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas Pan American (now UTRGV), followed by my Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the same institution in 2010. Since joining Cooper Internal Medicine in 2011, I've had the privilege of serving patients in the field of Internal Medicine while drawing on my experience in OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Urgent Care and Family Practice.

What I love most about my work is that it goes beyond treating symptoms—I get to truly know my patients, and they become like family to me. I'm committed to providing holistic, compassionate, and efficient care, and I just want patients to feel comfortable with me and that we're in agreement with the treatment plan. Being bilingual in English and Spanish allows me to connect with more patients and ensure everyone feels heard and understood. Outside the office, I recharge by spending time with my family, working out, going to church, enjoying the beach, traveling, playing golf, practicing karate, attending concerts, fishing, farming, caring for animals, and catching a good movie. I truly love what I do, and I'm grateful every day for the opportunity to serve this community.
