The great Hippocrates wrote “let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”, this was rightly said then and continues to be so now. Many studies have shown that good nutrition is paramount to prevent, improve, or reverse diseases. At Cooper Wellness Center, patients are empowered to make healthier food choices through daily education and healthy cooking classes.
Physical inactivity is now seen as a major risk factor for poor health and even death. The 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommends that healthy adults get a minimum of 2 1/2 hours of physical exercise per week. At Cooper Wellness Center, the Fitness room is opened to all our patients that are enrolled in the lifestyle medicine program. Our staff is trained to design a personalized exercise program for all our patients. The Wellness Coaches are trained to deliver personalized instructions to each patient.
Water therapy is known to have many health benefits. Thus at Cooper Wellness Center, both internal and external water therapy such as contrasting bath, hot and cold compresses, and foot bath, are used to improve, sustain, or restore health.
